It’s a product like this that makes me wish I worked back in an office. The mega-geniuses at Betabrand have come out with dress yoga pants suitable for the office. I’m still sitting here sulking over the fact that I did not come up with this brilliant idea – but seriously, will we EVER wear traditional pants in the office again? I can’t imagine ever giving up this level of comfort.
Want to snag a pair? They start shipping in mid-March but are now taking pre-orders. The only downside I see is that they currently only come in 32″ inseam, which excludes tall girls like me
They currently only come in grey, but they’re taking votes on the next color. The price is about the same as you would pay for a decent pair of work slacks – $79.20.

I clicked a link today for Glamour Magazine’s Top 10 Wardrobe Essentials. While I somewhat agree with the list (these are really the bare minimum basics) your wardrobe is headed for major snoozeville if this is all you’re wearing!!!
If you want to take your outfit from boring to fashionable – don’t forget your accessories! We’d add the following to Glamour’s list: a printed scarf, a go-anywhere clutch, a pop of color, a statement necklace, and everyday studs. Use these items to add some punch to jeans and a white tee or basic black! Just check out the transformations below.

You know the one – that girl who makes that cliche resolution to get in the best shape of her life for the New Year. I’ve always been one of those people who thought you shouldn’t wait for a new year to make a change. Truth be told, my timing has less to do with welcoming 2014 and more to do with bidding goodbye to the holiday season – and the endless supply of tempting treats!!!!
The past year and a half has been hectic for me – two new houses, two renovations, a promotion at work, some new side ventures, and a much more active social life! I’ve been super busy, and loving it – but along the way I’ve forgotten to pay adequate attention to my health and fitness. So – now that the holidays are behind us, I’m jumping into this with some real focus.
First step? A little jumpstart with Harley Pasternack’s Body Reset Diet. It’s a 15 day program built around whole foods and healthy smoothies designed to give your body a metabolic boost.
Then – I’ll be starting my friend and fitness model/trainer Stephanie Keenan’s 12 week fitness challenge. Steph’s program focuses on 3 weight training workouts per week, plus twice weekly HIIT (high intensity interval training) sessions to increase your metabolism and blast fat. The best part about her program? It’s all online! No need for expensive personal training sessions.
I’ll be blogging about my experience and sharing my progress – so if you’d like to follow along and help keep me accountable, just keep checking back
What are your resolutions this year?
Here’s to a happy, healthy, and FIT 2014!!!! xoxo

Perhaps I’m a tad bit early, but I was out running errands last weekend and the Christmas decorating bug hit me. A while back I had seen these adorable decorations at Target in colors like aqua, silver and gold and fell in love. I decided that was going to be my color scheme this year because it perfectly meshed with the colors in my house.
We don’t have room for a regular tree in here, so I found the perfect little compromise at Hobby Lobby.
It feels cozier in here already! Have you decorated for the holidays yet?

Not only have I recently become obsessed with the ABC show Scandal, but I’ve also been drooling over Olivia Pope’s wardrobe! This woman always looks so flawlessly put together. I’ve noticed that she tends to stick with neutrals (grays, taupe, lots of white and ivory) and the occasional washed out color (blush pink or baby blue, for example). Since she runs in political circles, her wardrobe choices need to be safe and conservative. Her outfit is always classic and easy on the eyes, and her jewelry is always feminine with just the right amount of sparkle – she never wears anything over the top.
While Kerry Washington’s character typically wears high end designers on the show, I pulled together some much more affordable options for achieving her office look. I’ll do a separate post on her casual style – this woman takes it to a whole different level!
What do you think? Would you wear any of these looks in the office?
